Origin

Obtained in Italy by M. Palieri, with the crossing Alfonso Lavallée x Red Málaga.

Fruit

• Bunch: large size, medium compactness.
• Berry: large, truncated, dark red-violet in color, with neutral flavor and seeds.

Agronomic Behavior

• Sprouting date: From March 1 (Huelva) to April 2 (Almería).
• Maturation date: From August 7 (Seville) to August 29 (Almería).

• Vigor: high

Cultivation Techniques

Plant of good vigor that adapts well to driving in vines, with not very long pruning.

Fertility is one cluster per shoot.

• The recommended cultivation techniques to obtain commercial quality grapes are: early elimination of badly located and unproductive shoots.
• Collection and accommodation of buds and clusters.
• After setting, it is necessary to eliminate the upper tendril wing of the bunch and make a small apical blunting of it.
• With the use of Ethrel at 500 ppm at the beginning of veraison, a better color intensity and uniformity is obtained.

Technological Skills

Due to its beautiful purplish-black color, its good resistance to transport and cold storage, among other attributes, it is spreading successfully in the market.
